EPDM Rubber Seals

EPDM Rubber seals and gaskets are used in almost every industry from automotive to aerospace. They are used to reduce vibration and noise as well as to eliminate or reduce water and dust getting inside of equipment. Our rubber seals and gaskets are used as window seals, door seals, slide-out seals, compartment seals, truck cap seals, and more. Each application requires a unique shape to get the job done. EPDM rubber seals and gaskets come in every shape such as:

D-Seals
P-Seals
Ribbed Seals
Bulb Seals
Lid Seals
and many more!

What Is EPDM Rubber?

EPDM rubber is a synthetic rubber often used in sealing applications, roofing membranes and other applications where weather resistance is desired. This rubber has excellent resistance to UV exposure, ozone, and extreme temperature ranges, making it ideal for outdoor use. EPDM rubber also resists water absorption.

Does EPDM Rubber Contain Latex?

EPDM rubber doesn’t contain latex. Latex is a natural product derived from the sap of certain trees and plants. EPDM rubber is made from synthetic polymers and contains no natural products.

How Durable Is EPDM Rubber and What Type of Weather Can It Withstand?

EPDM rubber is very durable and can withstand extreme temperatures, sunlight, ozone, and water. This type of rubber is often used in outdoor applications where it is exposed to the elements.

EPDM Rubber Seals has over 1000 standard rubber and plastic seals, but if you can’t find the one you are looking for, we are happy to make a custom seal to fit your application perfectly. Check out some of our standard rubber seals and gaskets in our Epdm Rubber Seals.

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber seals are versatile sealing components known for their excellent weather resistance, temperature tolerance, and durability. They are widely used in various industries and applications where reliable and long-lasting sealing solutions are required. Here’s more information about EPDM rubber seals:

Key Features:

  1. Weather Resistance: EPDM rubber is highly resistant to outdoor weather conditions, including UV radiation, ozone, and extreme temperatures. This makes EPDM seals suitable for outdoor and exposed applications.
  2. Temperature Tolerance: EPDM rubber seals can withstand a wide range of temperatures, from -40°C to 125°C (-40°F to 257°F), making them suitable for both cold and hot environments.
  3. Chemical Resistance: EPDM rubber exhibits resistance to a variety of chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and polar solvents, making it versatile for use in different industrial settings.
  4. UV Resistance: EPDM seals are resistant to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, making them ideal for outdoor applications that are exposed to sunlight.
  5. Durability: EPDM rubber is known for its long service life, even in challenging environments. It can maintain its properties over an extended period.
  6. Flexibility: EPDM seals are flexible and conformable, allowing them to seal effectively on irregular surfaces and adapt to various shapes.
  7. Water Resistance: EPDM is inherently water-resistant and provides a reliable seal against moisture and water ingress.

Applications:

  1. Automotive Industry: EPDM rubber seals are used in vehicles for sealing applications, including door seals, window seals, and gaskets for engine components.
  2. Construction: In the construction industry, EPDM seals are employed in roofing systems, curtain wall systems, and window seals to ensure weatherproofing and insulation.
  3. HVAC Systems: EPDM rubber seals are used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to create airtight seals in ductwork and components.
  4. Electrical Enclosures: They are used in electrical enclosures to provide a weatherproof seal and protect electrical components from moisture and dust.
  5. Plumbing and Piping: EPDM seals are utilized in plumbing systems, pipes, and fittings to create watertight seals in applications such as water distribution and wastewater systems.
  6. Industrial Equipment: EPDM rubber seals are used in various industrial equipment and machinery to seal joints, connections, and enclosures.
  7. Marine Applications: EPDM seals are suitable for marine environments, including boat hatches, ports, and other marine sealing applications.
  8. Food and Beverage Industry: EPDM seals meet FDA (Food and Drug Administration) standards and are used in food and beverage processing equipment.
  9. Pharmaceutical Industry: EPDM seals are used in pharmaceutical manufacturing for sealing and containment purposes.

EPDM rubber seals are valued for their reliability, durability, and versatility. They play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of various systems and components while providing resistance to environmental factors and chemicals. Proper selection and installation are essential to maximize the performance of EPDM seals in specific applications.
